The 2021 Run for Hope: Raising funds for childhood cancer and biomedical research
KITCHENER-WATERLOO, Ontario, Canada ― We are excited to announce the start of the 2021 Run for Hope. The purpose of the run is to raise funds for biomedical research and childhood cancer. Proceeds will be shared equally between STEM Biomedical and Childhood Cancer Canada – a charity whose mission is to create victories for Canadian children with cancer through investment in national, collaborative, lifesaving research, empowering education and community programs.
The run will be virtual, allowing participants to run from any location they choose. The virtual nature of the run is meant to promote a safe and socially distant way to run as we face the challenges of Covid-19. Runners can choose to run 5km, 10km, or half-marathon distances. The run will be open for a period of one week, from May 15th to May 22nd. Early registration is strongly encouraged to help raise awareness. This year, two notable Canadian athletes have joined the Run for Hope, rising to the challenge to help raise awareness. Canadian Olympian Erin Teschuk and former CFL football player Ronnie Pfeffer will be running in support of the cause. Below they share compassionate and encouraging words on why they decided to run.
How you can help as an individual
