ALEXANDER ILLE
Head Director

Alexander Ille B.Sc., M.Sc., C.R.A., is currently a biomedical sciences PhD candidate at Rutgers University. Alex founded STEM Biomedical in 2016 and is highly enthusiastic about biomolecular research and its potential for improving the field of medicine. Alex is determined to lead the organization in the advancement of biomedical research for the betterment of human health.

RAOUL BODEA
Director of Scientific Advancement

Raoul​ Bodea B.Sc., M.Sc., studied biology and chemistry at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, as well as human anatomy at D’Youville University in Buffalo, New York. He is passionate about the future of medicine and how scientific research can improve it. Raoul applies the various expertise gained from his studies to advance STEM Biomedical’s research endeavors.

ANETTA ILLE
Director of Scientific Advancement

Anetta Ille B.Sc. graduated from the University of Waterloo where she studied the biomedical sciences. She actively engaged in research at the UW School of Pharmacy and developed a passion for it. She is now a medical student at UMF Cluj in Romania. Anetta applies her knowledge and experience in the biomedical sciences to advance the STEM Biomedical’s research progress.

IOANA BALTA
Director of Finance

Ioana Balta holds an Accounting and Financial Management degree from the University of Waterloo and is pursuing an MBA at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics. Through her experience in various academic and work placements, Ioana has developed a contemporary and practical skill-set in accounting and finance. Her voluntary efforts are an invaluable asset to STEM Biomedical.

FILIP LUP
Director of Growth

​Filip Lup completed his degree in Economics and Financial Management at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, and has diverse experience in the financial sector. As Director of Finance, Filip aims to continue the growth and optimize the financial performance of STEM Biomedical. This work will advance our research capacity and accelerate our progress towards discovering new cures.

ANDREI BURSUGIU
Director of Strategy

​Andrei is an International Bachelor of Business Administration graduate from the Schulich School of Business, specializing in finance. Andrei has a broad practical skill-set, stemming from a number of volunteering and work positions within various domains of finance and strategy. Andrei's professional experience in these areas makes him an invaluable member of our board.

Voluntary Affiliates

Dr. Adamescu earned his PhD at the University of Waterloo in and computational chemistry. There are multiple venues from within the field of chemistry which the STEM Biomedical considers essential to the progression of biomedical research. Dr. Adamescu is therefore a valuable affiliate due to his knowlede and expertise in this area.

​Dr. Bernosky-Smith holds a PhD in Physiology and Pharmacology from Wake Forest University Medical School. She is a research assistant professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo as well as a professor at Canisius University. Dr. Bernosky-Smith's credentials and research experience are of great worth in helping our organization reach its research goals.
